How to reach Bayreuth

By air 

There are three internationl airports within easy reach:
  

  • Frankfurt International Airport
    From the railway station "Frankfurt Airport" trains go to Nuremberg main railway station (Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof). In Nuremberg you have to change trains to Bayreuth. Total travel time is about 4 hours.
     ​
  • Nuremberg International Airport
    The underground (U-Bahn) takes you from the airport to the main railway station where you may take the trains to Bayreuth. Total travel time is about 1.5 hours.
     
  • Munich International Airport
    Take the train from Munich (München) to Nuremberg where you have to change for the train to Bayreuth. Total travel time is about 4 hours.

By train

In most cases, you will travel by train via Nuremberg main railway station (Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof). The express train from Nuremberg to Bayreuth departs every hour between early morning and late evening.

By car:

On the motorway A9 (Berlin-München) take exit "Bayreuth Süd'' and follow the signs to the university.
